Key Stage 2 Geography
INTRODUCTION
To assist our students and those at our Partner Primary Schools, we have decided to include a Useful Links section to resources, support information and a locational quiz. These will feature much of the key knowledge and understanding that we expect students to already have when they enter our school in Year 7.
This information will provide an opportunity for students and their parents to identify what students should know and understand - and then to help them research their answers to help them reach the required KS2 National Curriculum level. Indeed, we have started to test students' basic geographical knowledge and understanding as soon as they arrive in Year 7.
To help parents in particular, we have included this link to a National Curriculum website where Geography requirements for Primary schools are detailed............
Key Stage 2 National Curriculum Geography
We have also included a Quiz activity to assist students and to enable parents to help their children prepare whilst at Primary School and for their entry into Secondary School. This is based on the 'Locational Knowledce - examples of significant places and environments' 'Breadth of Study Requirements' as presented by the DfEE/QCA.
The answers are detailed at the bottom of the page.
